The American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC) is holding its 2010 Annual Meeting & Clinical Lab Expo July 25 - 29 at the Anaheim Convention Center, Anaheim, CA. The highlight of each day is the Plenary Session which provides a unique opportunity to hear from world leaders in the areas of science, medicine and technology. Sessions scheduled for 2010 are:

Sunday, July 25, 5:00pm – 6:30pm The opening Plenary Session features John Q. Trojanowski, MD, PhD, winner of the 2010 Wallace H. Coulter Lectureship Award, who will discuss The Impact of Biomarkers on the Diagnosis of Alzheimer’s Disease. Dr. Trojanowski is Co-Director, Center for Neurodegenerative Disease Research Director, Institute on Aging & Director, Alzheimer's Disease Core Center and the William Maul Measey-Truman G. Schnabel, Jr. MD Professor of Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology at the University of Pennsylvania

Monday, July 26, 8:45am – 10:15am Gail Wilensky, PhD will address The Changing and Challenging Health Care Landscape. Currently Dr.Wilensky is the John M. Olin Senior Fellow at Project HOPE, an international health foundation, where she analyzes and develops policies relating to health reform and to ongoing changes in the medical market place.

Tuesday, July 27, 8:45am – 10:15am James Thomson, VMD, PhD, University of Wisconsin-Madison, will discuss Human Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells Derived with Episomal Vectors. Dr. Thomson is professor in the Endocrinology & Reproductive Physiology program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His research uses Embryonic Stem (ES) cells derived from non-human primates and humans as an in vitro model for understanding human development.

Wednesday, July 28, 8:45am – 10:15am Paul Ridker, MD, MPH, Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women's Hospital, addresses Inflammation, hsCRP, and Cardiovascular Disease Prevention: A Paradigm Shift. Dr. Ridker is the Eugene Braunwald Professor of Medicine, Harvard Medical School and Associate Physician, Brigham and Women's Hospital. He has led an active program in the area of biomarkers and their translation to risk assessment and management of cardiovascular disease.

Thursday, July 29, 8:45am – 10:15am Leroy Hood, MD, PhD, Institute for Systems Biology, discusses The "4P" Healthcare Approach: Predictive, Personalized, Preventive and Participatory. Dr. Hood is President of the Institute for Systems Biology which takes a multi-disciplinary approach to systems biology by integrating the sciences of biology, chemistry, physics, computation, mathematics and medicine.
